The effective date of the General Safety Regulation, which was expected to be implemented on July 7th in the automotive sector, has been postponed to August 31st by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. According to the development stated in the Official Gazette, vehicles in stock and imported for a month and a half can be sold with the current regulation.

The Ministry of Industry and Technology has made a decision that closely affects the motor vehicle market. The implementation of GSR2 (Global Safety Regulation 2), which was expected to take effect on July 7th, has been postponed to one and a half months later.

CONTINUATION OF NEW VEHICLE SALES WITH CURRENT REGULATIONS

The Ministry's decision regarding the regulation has been published in the Official Gazette. According to the decision, the implementation date of the General Safety Regulation has been postponed from July 7th, 2024 to August 31st, 2024.

After months of discussion and the impact on automotive sales, vehicles in stock and those imported in the next one and a half months can be sold with the current safety regulations.

HOW WILL THE VEHICLE MARKET BE AFFECTED?

Automobile brands, who have been trying to reduce their vehicle stocks due to the regulation, have been organizing campaigns for a long time, while the second-hand market has also been negatively affected by this situation. With the Ministry's decision to postpone, it is expected that the campaigns will continue and diversify, and the situation is considered as an opportunity for those who can afford to buy a vehicle.
