The Minister of Health, Kemal Memişoğlu, came to his hometown Rize for a series of visits. Minister Memişoğlu, who was welcomed at Rize-Artvin Airport, visited the tradesmen in the city center. Rize Mayor Rahmi Metin, Rize Provincial Health Director Mustafa Tepe, and other officials accompanied Minister Memişoğlu during his visit. Minister Memişoğlu visited the tradesmen on Atatürk Avenue and the new municipal blocks, and had tea with taxi drivers at a taxi stand. We missed getting wet and the people of Rize. We will provide better healthcare services. The construction of the City Hospital has started. With the leadership of our President, we will achieve better results in healthcare." TRYING TO MAKE CITIZENS QUIT SMOKINGThe dialogue between Minister Memişoğlu and a citizen whom he wanted to quit smoking while touring the city drew attention. When the citizen, who said he was 56 years old, was told by Memişoğlu, "You will look younger if you don't smoke," he tried to change the subject by saying, "Will you quit smoking?". Memişoğlu intervened and said, "Don't change the subject. I only care about one cigarette." Memişoğlu explained the harms of smoking and said, "The leading cause of death in the world is heart and vascular diseases, and the reason is smoking. You can come to me, and I will treat your illness." The citizen promised Minister Memişoğlu that he would quit smoking. "DON'T CHANGE THE SUBJECT"Memişoğlu said, "Don't change the subject.
