Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Continental Cycling Team athlete Samet Bulut brought great pride to Muğla by winning first place at the Turkish Road Cycling Championship held in Siirt the day after his wedding. Becoming the Turkish champion in the race that took place the morning after his wedding, Samet dedicated his success to his teammates and his life partner.
Samet Bulut, an athlete from the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Continental Cycling Team, brought great pride to Muğla after his wedding in Bursa by coming first in the Turkish Road Cycling Championship held in Siirt the following day.
''CHAMPION AFTER THE WEDDING''
Samet, who set out for Siirt in the morning after his wedding and achieved a championship there, experienced double happiness. Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Continental Cycling Team General Coordinator İlker Cömert, stating that Samet, the 2026 TT champion, is one of the important figures in Turkish cycling, said, "When the team entered camp in Siirt, we wanted to give Samet 3 days off, but he only asked for 1 day. In fact, despite our insistence, he even did a 3-hour daily training in Bursa on the morning of the wedding. He became the Turkish champion in the race held the morning after the wedding. This is incredible. We also wish Esma and Samet a lifetime of happiness."
''IT ALSO MOTIVATED ME A BIT''
Turkish champion cyclist Samet Bulut said, "Cycling is not like other sports; when you miss training, you immediately feel the repercussions. Our engagement and wedding were planned in advance, and later, when the calendar for the Turkish Championship was announced, there was this conflict. I think it also motivated me a bit. I am very happy, and I thank my life partner and my teammates."
