DEVA Party member Gergerlioğlu: The continuation of trustees will come.

04.11.2024 17:20

The HDP's Kocaeli MP Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu announced that, due to the appointment of trustees, they will not participate in the General Assembly and Committees of the Parliament this week as per the party's decision. In statements to Haberler.com, Gergerlioğlu expressed that they do not find the trustee appointments to be in good faith and mentioned that there will likely be more to come.

The Ministry of Interior appointed trustees to the municipalities of Batman, Mardin, and Halfeti early in the morning following the appointment of a trustee to the Esenyurt Municipality of Istanbul last week.

After Esenyurt, the decision to appoint trustees for 2 provinces and 1 district raised tensions again. In a recent statement from the DEM Party, it was announced that they would not participate in the General Assembly and Committees of the Parliament. Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu, a Kocaeli Deputy from the DEM Party, made statements that will be widely discussed in response to questions from Melis Yaşar from Haberler.com.

DEM PARTY WILL NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE PARLIAMENT GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND COMMITTEES

Gergerlioğlu, who said, "We are always open to solutions," stated, "We are in the Parliament, but today, by party decision, we will not participate in the General Assembly and Committees this week. Our party will respond to these ruthless undemocratic decisions."

"THE CONTINUATION OF TRUSTEES WILL COME"

Gergerlioğlu, emphasizing that the Kurdish people are in favor of a solution despite all the negativities, said: "From now on, there is a reality of trustees that has been brought forth with such excuses. Probably, there will be more to come. We do not see good intentions here. There have been consecutive trustee appointments in the previous period as well. We definitely do not find these steps to be well-intentioned."
