DEM Party member Pervin Buldan: We will request appointments from political parties after the New Year.

DEM Party's Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, and Van MP Pervin Buldan met with the terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan yesterday in İmralı. Buldan stated in a press release regarding the visit that they would request appointments from political parties immediately after the New Year to convey the messages of the terrorist leader Öcalan.

Buldan noted that they would visit political parties together with Sırrı Süreyya Önder, saying, "Abdullah Öcalan has assigned us the responsibility to meet with the opposition. We will do this."

Buldan stated that they would visit İmralı again with Sırrı Süreyya Önder after their meetings and contacts, saying, "But the date is not yet clear. I cannot say anything very definite about the schedule. However, I think we will go after we carry out the visits as soon as possible."

Buldan explained that they had met with Abdullah Öcalan for nearly three hours, saying, "His health and morale are good. We saw him quite cheerful after 10 years. We last saw him in 2015. Ten years have passed, and I can say that we saw him quite well. He is also very hopeful about this period. 'This is a chance,' he says. We all need to evaluate this chance," she expressed.

- Strengthening Turkish-Kurdish brotherhood is not only a historical responsibility but has also gained decisive importance and urgency for all peoples.

- For the success of the process, it is essential that all political circles in Turkey take the initiative without getting caught up in narrow and temporary calculations, behave constructively, and provide positive contributions. One of the most important grounds for these contributions will undoubtedly be the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

- The events in Gaza and Syria have shown that the solution to this problem, which is being attempted to be gangrened by external interventions, can no longer be postponed. The contributions and suggestions of the opposition are valuable for achieving a successful outcome in proportion to the seriousness of this issue.

- I also have the necessary competence and determination to positively contribute to the new paradigm empowered by Mr. Bahçeli and Mr. Erdoğan.
