In images circulating on social media, a young man was seen being stopped by police as he attempted to set himself on fire. The person, who shouted, "I am a journalist. Please stop the fake news," tried to set himself ablaze.
While one person at the protest site tried to extinguish the fire by throwing water, the police intervened with the individual attempting to self-immolate.
It was observed that the individual had burns on his arm. Eyewitnesses stated that the person who set himself on fire claimed to be a "journalist at CBS" and expressed that "CBS is spreading fake news in Gaza."
