The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly began with a "trustee" protest by the members of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party).
THEY BANGED ON TABLES AND SHOUTED
Protesting the appointment of trustees to municipalities, DEM Party members banged on tables, chanting slogans such as "Trustees will go, peoples will stay" and "Trustees are a coup, no to the coup," while also shouting.
THE SESSION WAS INTERRUPTED FOR THE THIRD TIME
Due to the protest, TBMM Deputy Speaker CHP Gülizar Biçer Karaca suspended the meeting for 10 minutes. After the break, DEM Party members continued their protests. Following this, the General Assembly was interrupted again. After the second break, due to the insistence of the DEM Party members in their actions, the assembly was interrupted for the third time. Karaca invited the group vice-chairs of the parties to discuss.
