Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Preschool Teaching Department student Kabaiş, who said she would go to the beach to collect pebbles and has not been heard from since September 27, was found dead on the shores of Lake Van in the Mollakasım neighborhood of the Tuşba district.

It was revealed that Kabaiş's lifeless body, found on the shores of Lake Van with a headscarf, was discovered by Mehmet Emin Ankay, who was visiting his gardener friend in the Mollakasım neighborhood yesterday. Ankay stated that around 14:10, while watering his gardener friend's garden, he noticed a dark shape on the shores of Lake Van and, curious about what it was, approached and realized it was a corpse, then reported it to the gendarmerie. Ankay expressed that the investigation conducted by the gendarmerie teams determined that the body belonged to the missing Rojin.

The discovery of the young girl's lifeless body 20 kilometers from her home raises the possibility of murder, and to determine the exact cause of death, her body was sent to the forensic medicine institution. Rojin Kabaiş's funeral was sent to her hometown of Diyarbakır after the autopsy procedures conducted at the Van Forensic Medicine Institution. After the funeral prayer held at Yeniköy Mosque, the coffin was carried by women. Kabaiş's body was laid to rest in Yeniköy Cemetery amid tears.

Journalist Didem Arslan Yılmaz broadcast images of the location where Rojin's body was found during a television program, noting that the distance between the location and her home was 20 kilometers. Rojin's brother Servet stated that he received the tragic news during a live broadcast and mentioned that his sister was afraid of water. The grieving brother's words, "They killed my sister," drew attention.
