Chairman of the Future Party Ahmet Davutoğlu met with Prime Minister of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region (KRG) Mesrour Barzani to discuss strengthening historical and cultural ties and joint strategies to establish regional peace.
Ahmet Davutoğlu, Chairman of the Future Party, met with Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG). During the critical meeting between delegations, regional peace and stability, as well as deep-rooted cultural ties, were discussed.
ANNOUNCED ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Future Party leader Ahmet Davutoğlu announced the high-level meeting with KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani to the public through a post on his official social media account.
Davutoğlu, who visited Barzani along with his accompanying delegation, stated that the focus of the meeting was regional peace and common strategies.
EMPHASIS ON "DEEP-ROOTED HISTORY AND CULTURAL TIES"
Davutoğlu, addressing the content and diplomatic significance of the meeting, included the following statements in his social media post:
"I visited my esteemed friend, KRG Prime Minister Mr. Masrour Barzani, along with my delegation; we evaluated our deep-rooted historical and cultural ties as well as the common steps that can be taken for the peace and tranquility of our region. I thank Mr. Barzani and his delegation for their kind hospitality."
COMMON STEPS FOR REGIONAL PEACE
During the meeting, concrete and joint steps that could be taken to maintain stability in the region were discussed in light of recent developments in the Middle East. It was reported that Davutoğlu and Barzani agreed on the need to strengthen and preserve historical ties between the two geographies.
The visit concluded with mutual good wishes and thanks for hospitality from both sides.
