"THE BRAIN FEEDS ON SUGAR AND OXYGEN"

Addressing the relationship between brain health and the foods we eat and the diets we follow, Brain and Nerve Diseases Specialist Prof. Dr. Serdar Dağ stated, "Recently, a trend and crazy varieties of diets have started. Humans have a nature. By our creation, we need to be nourished with meat and herbs. There shouldn't be a fashion in diets. You cannot expect a miracle from a diet. A diet is the nutrient that provides energy to the body. Humans need all nutrients. Especially, the brain feeds on sugar and oxygen. When you don't take any sugar, your brain doesn't function; you know they give sugar during exams. Sugar should be taken naturally. It should be obtained from vegetables and fruits. Whatever you eat and drink accumulates in the cells. It creates a fuel residue. What happens with low-quality fuel is that there are excess residues. In useless food, waste materials in the cells become gas, which starts to damage the cells. If we eat poorly, we age early; if we eat worse, we damage the place where DNA is preserved, and diseases begin to emerge." he expressed.
