PROTECTING STREET CHILDREN ON ONE SIDE AND THEIR OWN CHILDREN ON THE OTHERThe incident took place in the Seydo Atilla neighborhood, which is connected to the Ceylanpınar district of Şanlıurfa. Stray dogs lying on the street attacked the children trying to pass by. A woman with her small children tried to rescue the children. The woman, who chased after the dog chasing the children, also tried to protect her own children. The children who ran away from the dog managed to escape the attack. Another woman pushing a baby stroller tried to pass by there but decided not to after what happened. THE DOGS' ATTACK DID NOT STOPThe attack of the dogs did not end there. Two small children who tried to pass by cautiously when they saw the dogs wanted to pass carefully. However, they panicked and ran away when the dogs barked. The dog that chased the children for a while returned to its place. Mahmut Karatop, a resident of the neighborhood, said, "We were sitting on the side. When we heard the noises, we also ran to the street. The little children were extremely scared. The dogs were attacking the children. A woman was a victim. We want the authorities to do what is necessary." It was also stated that street dogs constantly attack people in the same area. SOME NEIGHBORHOODS WERE QUARANTINEDAfter it was determined that a dog that bit a child in the rural Payamlı neighborhood of Eyyübiye district of Şanlıurfa on May 30 and a street dog that bit an adult in the Batıkent neighborhood on June 4 were rabid, quarantine measures were implemented in the region. It was determined that an aggressive dog was rabid in the Sumaklı neighborhood of Siverek and the neighborhood was quarantined. It was learned that partial quarantine measures are still in effect in all 3 neighborhoods.
