The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, made a statement regarding the hostages in the Gaza Strip. Marking the date he will take office, Trump said, "If the hostages in Gaza are not released before January 20, the Middle East will turn into hell."

Donald Trump, who was re-elected as President by defeating Kamala Harris in the U.S. Presidential elections, made striking statements regarding the Middle East. Speaking about the Israeli hostages in Gaza, Trump stated, "If the hostages in Gaza are not released before I take office as President of the United States on January 20, 2025, the Middle East will turn into hell."

HE HAD MET WITH NETANYAHU'S WIFE

Today, Trump discussed the release of Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip with Sara Netanyahu, the wife of Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

THE LATEST STATUS OF ISRAEL'S OCCUPATION OF GAZA

The armed wing of Hamas, Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, launched a comprehensive attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, citing the need to respond to "continuous violations against Palestinians and sacred values, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque." Israel announced that 1,200 Israelis were killed and 5,132 were injured in the attacks on October 7. Since October 7, approximately 44,429 Palestinians have died, including 17,492 children and 11,979 women, and 105,250 people have been injured in the attacks carried out by Israel on the Gaza Strip. While it is reported that thousands of dead are still under the rubble, civilian infrastructure is also being destroyed as hospitals and educational institutions, where the public has sought refuge, are targeted.

HOSTAGES WERE RELEASED IN 2023

The Israeli army announced that 806 of its soldiers, including 379 during the ground invasion, have been killed since the attacks on the Gaza Strip began on October 7. During the "humanitarian pause" that was granted for 4 days on November 24, 2023, and later extended for another 3 days, 81 Israelis and 240 Palestinians were mutually released. On the other hand, Israel continues to detain and imprison thousands of Palestinians.
