Meral Kara Delen, the private secretary and press advisor to the rector, who suffered a perforated intestine during an endoscopy in Adana and went into septic shock, lost her battle for life in the intensive care unit. Delen's husband announced the tragic news through a social media post titled "I have been defeated." An investigation, both judicial and administrative, has been initiated regarding Delen's death.
In Adana, Meral Kara Delen (46), who is the Chief of Staff to the Rector of Çukurova University (ÇÜ) and also a press advisor, went to ÇÜ Medical Faculty Balcalı Hospital on February 14 to get examined due to her illness.
HER INTESTINES WERE PERFORATED DURING ENDOSCOPY
During the endoscopy procedure performed by Prof. Dr. Y.G., Delen's intestines were perforated. Entering septic shock, Delen was immediately taken to surgery. Delen, whose perforated intestines were stitched up in the intensive care unit of the same hospital, was admitted to intensive care.
SHE PASSED AWAY
However, despite all the interventions, Delen could not be saved. An administrative and judicial investigation has been initiated regarding the death of Meral Kara Delen.
"I HAVE BEEN DEFEATED"
Delen's death was announced by her husband Oğuzhan Delen, who is also a journalist, through a heartfelt message on social media titled "I have been defeated," stating, "I just received the heaviest defeat of my life. We lost my wife Meral Delen." Oğuzhan Delen also announced that his wife would be laid to rest at Kabasakal Cemetery after the noon prayer today.
