Egypt's Sisi To Visit Saudi Arabia On Sunday

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi is due to arrive in Saudi Arabia on Sunday for an official visit, his first to the kingdom since King Salman bin Abdulaziz ascended the throne last month, the presidency said.



In a statement, the Egyptian presidency said that al-Sisi is due to meet with the Saudi monarch as well as Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz and Deputy Crown Prince Mohamed bin Nayef.



The release, however, did not say how long the visit would last.



Yet, it said the talks would touch on means of boosting political and economic ties as well as the developments in the region with a focus on the situation in Yemen.



The oil-rich kingdom was among the first Arab countries that welcomed the ouster of elected Islamist President Mohamed Morsi by the military in mid-2013 and channeled billions of dollars to shore up Egypt's economy in the later months.
