Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stated that they will not accept any threat to Saudi Arabia's security, saying, "We will take all steps to protect Saudi Arabia." Sisi, who announced that he would call Parliament to an emergency session if the Riyadh administration requests it, emphasized that his country is ready to defend Saudi Arabia. Putting an end to discussions regarding his term of office, Sisi said that he will leave office in 2030 and that no constitutional amendment will be made.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi spoke at the graduation ceremony of students of the Egyptian Military Academy east of the capital, Cairo.

Saying that Egypt and Saudi Arabia are the heart of the Arab and Islamic world, Sisi stressed that Cairo will not accept any threat to Saudi Arabia's security and borders.

"WE WILL TAKE ALL NECESSARY STEPS TO PROTECT SAUDI ARABIA"

Sisi said, "We will take all necessary steps to protect Saudi Arabia, and if it is requested of us, I will call Parliament to an emergency session to grant authorization."

The Egyptian President stated that, in line with the directives of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, they are ready to take any steps requested by the Riyadh administration and to defend Saudi Arabia.

Thanking the Gulf countries, especially Saudi Arabia, for the support they gave during the process Egypt faced in 2013, Sisi said, "It is true that the national security of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf countries is interconnected."

"MY TERM OF OFFICE ENDS IN 2030"

Confirming that there will be no amendment to the Egyptian Constitution, Sisi said, "My term as head of state will end in 2030. This is a settled matter."

Sisi also responded with these words to claims on social media that the Constitution could be amended in 2027 to grant him the right to run for the presidency for a new term.

Under the current Constitution, Sisi cannot run for the presidency again after 2030, when his third term ends.

EGYPTIAN PARLIAMENT TO CONVENE TOMORROW

Meanwhile, according to a report by Egypt's official MENA agency, the General Secretariat of the Egyptian Parliament made a written statement on the matter.

The statement said that following Sisi's request for authorization to support Saudi Arabia, the Parliament's General Assembly will convene tomorrow at 13:00.
