The Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), Ekrem İmamoğlu, announced that the Syrian visit of the Union of Turkish Municipalities (TBB) has been canceled by the Governor of Damascus.

In his statement regarding the issue, İmamoğlu said: "Damascus is not my visit. It is not a personal trip. I had expressed that delegations would go to Damascus on behalf of TBB and IMM.
