The second hearing day has arrived in the trial of Ela Rümeysa Cebeci and former Fenerbahçe President Sadettin Saran, who are each being tried on charges of "trafficking in or supplying narcotic or stimulant substances" with a request for imprisonment of no less than 10 years. Cebeci, who is being tried without detention, came to the courthouse, while Saran, whose obligation to attend the hearings has been removed, did not come to court.
Ela Rümeysa Cebeci came to the courthouse for the second hearing of the case in which she is being tried for the offense of "trafficking in or supplying narcotic or stimulant substances."
The second hearing of the case, in which Ela Rümeysa Cebeci and former Fenerbahçe Sports Club President Sadettin Saran are being tried separately on charges of "trafficking in or supplying narcotic or stimulant substances," with a request for imprisonment of no less than 10 years, will be held at the Istanbul Justice Palace 4th High Criminal Court. Cebeci, who is being tried without detention, attended the hearing, while Saran, whose obligation to attend hearings was lifted, did not.
FROM THE INDICTMENT
The indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that an investigation was launched against Ela Rümeysa Cebeci on 18 December 2025 in line with the statements made by the confidential witness Kanarya.
In the continuation of the investigation, it was reported that during forensic informatics and digital material examinations conducted on suspect Cebeci's mobile phone, intensive messaging content assessed to concern drug use, procurement, and cultivation with suspect Sadettin Saran, who was registered in her contacts, was detected, and as a result, the case file was separated with respect to Cebeci and Saran.
The indictment emphasized that their defenses claiming that the drug procurement dialogues in Cebeci and Saran's WhatsApp messages and voice recordings were metaphorical jokes about TV series and film lines and banter, and did not aim at drug trafficking or procurement, were not credited in the face of concrete evidence.
The indictment stated that in the correspondence between Cebeci and Saran, they supplied narcotic substances to each other, used these substances in the same setting, and corresponded about procuring drugs again.
In the indictment, it was recorded that drugs were detected in hair samples of Cebeci and Saran, and it was requested that Saran and Cebeci be separately sentenced to imprisonment for no less than 10 years for the offense of "trafficking in or supplying narcotic or stimulant substances."
