ELON Musk denied having a romantic relationship with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, but social media users believe the photos of the duo suggest otherwise. The billionaire described the Prime Minister as "beautiful inside and out," while Meloni affectionately referred to Musk as "a valuable genius." In photos taken at the Global Citizen Awards in New York on Monday and shared online, Tesla founder Musk (53) is seen giving the award while looking into the eyes of Italian politician Meloni (47). As if the photos weren't enough, Meloni's request months ago to personally receive the award from Musk's hands also fueled the rumors. While presenting the award, Musk said Meloni is "someone whose inside is more beautiful than her outside" and joked that "this can't always be said for politicians." He then affectionately described her as "authentic, honest, and thoughtful." The right-wing Italian politician responded to the billionaire by calling him "a valuable genius." After the photos from the award night went viral, X (formerly Twitter) users expressed that the duo might have a relationship beyond friendship. One user commented, "You can't have ELON without mELONI." Another said, "Find someone who looks at you the way Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni looks at Elon Musk." Yet another remarked, "They would make such a sweet couple!" However, Musk put an end to the rumors by defending the duo on his social media platform. He stated, "I was there with my mom. There is absolutely no romantic relationship between Prime Minister Meloni and me." Meloni had separated from her long-time partner Andrea Giambruno in 2023, following the leak of vulgar and sexist off-air comments, including Giambruno's proposal for a throuple with a female TV colleague. The couple has an eight-year-old daughter. Musk has a complicated marital history. He was married to author Justine Wilson (52) and has been married twice to British actress Talulah Riley (39). He has also dated actress Amber Heard (38) and singer Grimes (36), with whom he has three children. Musk and Meloni have met several times before, and while the Tesla executive continues to build friendships with right-wing leaders, they have been on friendly terms for some time. In June last year, Musk flew to Rome to see the Italian leader at her official residence. They chatted about shared interests such as declining birth rates and the untapped potential of artificial intelligence. Musk also attended a meeting organized by Meloni's Fratelli d'Italia (Brothers of Italy) political party in December. He responded "yes" to claims that he "accepted" the invitation on X. The four-day political youth festival Atreju confirmed Musk as their "mysterious" guest from their accounts. However, there are allegations that their close friendship is linked to the Prime Minister wanting to renew ties with Trump allies after Musk supported former President Trump for the upcoming elections. Meloni claimed that Musk's decision to present the award to her was made months ago and had "nothing to do with the American election campaign."
