Üsküdar Deputy Mayor Dündar Ziya Gültekin, who was seriously injured in a chain-reaction traffic accident that occurred on the Düzce section of the Anatolian Motorway, died in the hospital where he was taken. In her condolence message published for Gültekin of the AK Party, Hazal Koç, a member of the YENİ Party Üsküdar Municipal Council, drew attention to the respect and courtesy between them despite their political differences.

Following the death of Üsküdar Deputy Mayor Dündar Ziya Gültekin, who lost his life in the chain traffic accident that occurred at the Düzce passage of the Anatolian Highway, NEW Party Üsküdar Municipal Council Member Hazal Koç published a condolence message. Noting that she and Gültekin served together in the Üsküdar Municipal Council Divan and the Municipal Executive Committee, Koç described the impressions she gained during their short working friendship. Koç emphasized that despite their being in different political parties, Gültekin maintained his courtesy and constructive approach.

Hazal Koç, in her condolence message, referring to the period when she and Dündar Ziya Gültekin worked together, used the following statements: "I learned with deep sorrow that Üsküdar Municipality Deputy Mayor Dündar Ziya Gültekin lost his life after the tragic traffic accident he had. In the short time since he was elected Deputy Mayor, we had the opportunity to work together with him in the Üsküdar Municipal Council Divan and the Municipal Executive Committee. Even in the difficult and harsh political processes experienced recently, despite our being in different political views, I personally witnessed that he never compromised on his courtesy, respectful and constructive attitude. Due to this painful loss, which once again reminded us that political differences should not come before human values and mutual respect, I feel great sorrow. May God have mercy on the late Mayor Ziya; I wish patience and condolences to the AK Party community, our Üsküdar Municipality, and all of Üsküdar, especially his precious family, valued children, and loved ones. May God have mercy on him. May his place be paradise."
