Turkish president shares investment opportunities in the country with US firms.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met representatives of U.S. firms and civil society organizations during his official visit to New York, Turkey's Investment Support and Promotion Agency said Friday.

Erdogan held a meeting at the East West Institute on Thursday, where he shared investment opportunities in Turkey, according to a statement released by the agency.

Representatives from Boeing, Citigroup, Metlife, GE, PepsiCo, Allergan, Cargill, Chevron, UBS, Blackstone, TPI, Oppenheimer, Abraaj, Coca Cola, General Atlantic, Qinvest and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce attended the meeting.

Erdogan said Turkey had made significant reforms to attract foreign direct investments, the statement added.

"We provide facilities to international investors who are willing to invest in our country through our institutions including the Investment Support and Promotion Agency," Erdogan said.

Arda Ermut, head of the agency, said that the meeting signifies Turkey's interest in foreign direct investments.

Ermut said they wanted to generate employment for the people of Turkey through value-added investments.

Erdogan concluded his four-day visit to the U.S. on Thursday where he attended a session in the UN General Assembly. -
