Commenting on the Fenerbahçe-Bodrumspor match, Toroğlu stated that Atatürk sacrificed himself for Turkey. Toroğlu said, "You may not like him, but show respect. You may not like him, but don't be disrespectful. An ignorant person does not love Atatürk. Because it doesn't suit the ignorant person. Atatürk is a man who says, 'I want to educate the ignorant.'
