Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan answered students' questions at a seminar organized by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at KTÜ. Doğan provided details about the separation processes of Ünal Karaman, Abdülkadir Ömür, and Abdullah Avcı. ÜNAL KARAMAN'S SEPARATION PROCESSIn response to a question about why technical director Ünal Karaman was not thanked, Ertuğrul Doğan said, "We did not want such a thing to happen at Trabzonspor during that period. He had a problem with our president. He was dismissed from his position because he made such statements in front of the press, and it was the right thing to do. Institutional identity must be important. No one can contribute more than what he has added to Trabzonspor. This is valid for everyone. Every coach and every person left after receiving their payment. I wish him well for himself." "I PUT ABDÜLKADİR AT THE DOOR"Referring to Abdülkadir Ömür's separation process, Doğan stated, "We experienced a similar situation with Abdulkadir Ömür, who was raised in Trabzonspor's youth system. The day he told the Trabzonspor Club President, 'I no longer want to wear this jersey,' I took that jersey off him and put it at the door," he expressed. FAREWELL TO ABDULLAH AVCITrabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan commented on the separation from Abdullah Avcı, saying, "Anyone who comes to Trabzonspor tries to do their best after sitting in that chair. My biggest dream and desire is to make them champions. No one among us produces anything to be unsuccessful or to get caught in that. There has been a relief in our entire community. We also could not succeed in transfers, and our coach could not succeed either. After the championship, as experienced in Europe and Turkey, a drop in performance occurred. This is a reality we accept. There is no reason to say we did this or that. It happened this way; I wish it hadn't. Neither the president at that time nor I would have wanted it to happen. Every coach who worked and left Trabzonspor was paid. This is my 7th year, and if you ask who was paid the least, it is Abdullah Avcı," he said. WILL TRABZONSPOR BE SOLD?Doğan responded to a question about whether there is an agenda regarding the sale of the club as follows; "It was a letter of interest. It is normal and a good thing for such interests to arise due to economic moves. The system in Turkey does not allow club sales. We tell the firms that meet with us this. I cannot name names, but the summary of the matter is that I want to invest in Trabzonspor; there are 400-500. Even if I wanted to, it is not technically possible. If the law changes in Turkey, we can have different discussions. After stating that it is not legally possible, we cannot go beyond that."
