Etimesgut Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu announced his new project regarding stray animals: We will assign them.

The first five articles of the Animal Protection Law Proposal, which includes regulations for stray animals, were approved in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. With the proposal, definitions will be clarified and the provisions of "Euthanasia procedure is performed by a veterinarian or under the supervision of a veterinarian" will be implemented in work related to stray animals. Erdal Beşikçioğlu, the Mayor of Etimesgut in Ankara, also announced his project regarding stray animals.

"THEY ARE NEEDED IN MANY OF OUR BUILDINGS"

Beşikçioğlu, who said that he will assign stray animals by training them, stated in his social media account, "We will create new duties for our beloved animals in our municipality. We need them in our units, social facilities, and even in many of our buildings."

"OUR SHELTERS WILL BECOME REHABILITATION AND TRAINING CENTERS"

Beşikçioğlu stated that the director of veterinary and the trainer of the Turkish army's mine detection dogs will provide the training process for stray animals, and added the following: "Our shelters will become rehabilitation and training centers. In addition, Ankara University Veterinary Department will be with us with their knowledge and experience during this process. Afterwards, I will assign our beloved animals in the Municipality. We need caretakers for our beloved animals who will take care of them in the garage of our municipality's engineering department, in the garage of our parks and gardens, in the garage of our truck parking lot, in our social facilities, and in dozens of our buildings."
