The number of employed persons in euro area rose 2.6% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022, Eurostat said on Tuesday.
This was up 2.5% in the EU compared to a year ago in January-March, according to the bloc's statistical office.
In the fourth quarter of 2021, both areas posted a 2.1% annual growth in employment.
Compared with the previous quarter, employment increased by 0.5% in the euro area and by 0.4% in the EU in the first quarter of this year, after 0.4% rise in prior three-month period. -
