European Exchanges Close With Gains

European stock exchanges closed with gains on Tuesday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 5.8 points, or 1.14%, to finish at 514.02.

The UK's FTSE 100 rose 100 points, or 1.22%, to close at almost 8,313 while Germany's DAX 30 jumped 254 points, or 1.4%, to 18,430.

France's CAC 40 increased 79 points, or 0.99%, to reach 8,075 at the final bell.

Italy's FTSE MIB was up 255 points, or 0.75%, to end the session at 34,242.

Spain's IBEX 35 was the best performer of the day, rising 163 points, or 1.5%, to finish at 11,080. -
