European Stocks Close Higher Except In UK, Spain

France's CAC 40 performs best, adding 0.13%

European stocks closed higher Thursday, except in the UK and Spain.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, rose 0.38 points, or 0.07%, to finish at 521.56.

France's CAC 40 was the best performer of the day, adding almost 10 points, or 0.13%, to 8,102.

Germany's DAX gained 11 points, or 0.06%, to 18,601. Italy's FTSE MIB added seven points, or 0.02%, to end the day at 34,467.

The UK's FTSE 100, on the other hand, fell 31 points, or 0.37%, to finish the session at 8,339.

Spain's IBEX 35, meanwhile, was off 17 points, or 0.16%, to close at 11,311. -
