Following the match between Galatasaray and Kocaelispor at Galatasaray's home ground, the club issued a statement regarding claims circulating on social media that the concession stands in the away supporters' section were closed and not providing service, denying all allegations. The statement mentioned that material damage occurred in many areas of the stand, such as seats, restrooms, and cabin doors.
Following the Galatasaray-Kocaelispor match in the 29th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig, it was alleged that the water in the toilets in the away stand where Kocaelispor fans were located was cut off and the concession stand inside the stadium was locked.
GALATASARAY'S RESPONSE TO THE CONCESSION STAND ALLEGATIONS
Galatasaray announced that the allegations that the concession stands in the stand where away fans were located did not provide service during the match against Kocaelispor in the Trendyol Süper Lig do not reflect the truth.
"HAD BECOME UNUSABLE"
In a statement from the yellow-reds regarding the issue, it was stated: "The allegations that the concession stands in the away stand were closed and did not provide service during the Galatasaray - Kocaelispor match do not reflect the truth. As of 5:00 PM, 2 concession stands were opened, and then, even before the match started, a physical attack by Kocaeli fans occurred, causing significant material damage to the concession stands. The shutters were broken, and the grill and toaster machines became unusable. Following this, the police intervened, and the concession stands were temporarily closed. After necessary security measures were taken, one concession stand continued to provide service, while the other unfortunately remained closed as it had become unusable. Additionally, serious damage was also caused to the seats in the stand, as well as the sink and cabin doors in the toilets."
