In the South Asian country of Laos, a fake alcohol tragedy has claimed the lives of four people. The latest victim was 19-year-old Australian Bianca Jones, who was on vacation with a friend. More than 100 people were poisoned by free drinks served at a hostel in Vang Vieng, and 12 of them are still receiving treatment in the hospital. Methanol was detected in the drinks, prompting the police to halt alcohol sales at all hotels and bars in the area and launch a wide-ranging investigation.

The fake alcohol disaster in Laos, a popular tourism country in Southeast Asia, continues to claim lives. Most recently, 19-year-old Australian Bianca Jones, who went on vacation with her best friend, died from methanol poisoning.

More than 100 people who consumed free drinks at the Nana Backpacker Hostel in Vang Vieng have been poisoned, and so far, four tourists have died. Among the deceased are two Danish and one American tourist.

At least a dozen people, including six British tourists, are still receiving treatment in the hospital. The condition of Bianca's friend Holly Bowles (19), who went on vacation with her, is also critical. Additionally, 28-year-old lawyer Simone White from England is still undergoing treatment.

The hotel manager confirmed that guests were served drinks made from a mixture of vodka, ice, and cola, claiming that the drinks were obtained legally. However, an investigation revealed that methanol had been mixed into the drinks. Methanol is a type of toxic alcohol used for industrial purposes.

While the police have launched a wide-ranging investigation into the incident, they have ordered all hotels and bars in the area to stop selling alcohol. The governments of the UK and Australia have warned their citizens about alcoholic beverages in Laos.

Bianca's family stated that their daughter was on the 'vacation of her dreams,' while Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said, "This is every parent's greatest fear and a nightmare that no one should have to experience."
