Family tragedy in Adana: Schizophrenic young man killed his sleeping family.

In Adana, S.A. (26) shot his sleeping mother Mintaha Aydın (61), father İlyas Aydın (63), and grandmother Ülfet Köse (80) in the head with a gun while they were in bed. The incident occurred around 04:30 in the Mehmet Akif Ersoy neighborhood of the central Sarıçam district. According to reports, S.A., who was undergoing treatment for schizophrenia, had an argument with his parents with whom he lived, leading to family issues. S.A. shot his mother Mintaha Aydın, father İlyas Aydın, and grandmother Ülfet Aydın in the head while they were asleep at night. He then called the 112 Emergency Call Center, reporting that his family had been shot and were injured. Following the report, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The medical team's examination revealed that the mother and grandmother had died.

FATHER SERIOUSLY INJURED

The seriously injured father İlyas Aydın was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The police, who found the gun believed to have been used in the incident at the house, detained S.A. It was learned that S.A. confessed to the murder in his initial statement. The lifeless bodies of Mintaha Aydın and her mother Ülfet Aydın were taken to the morgue of the Adana Forensic Medicine Institution for autopsy after the examination at the scene. The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
