Former Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim revealed in a program the conversation he had with Fenerbahçe player Kerem Aktürkoğlu.
One of the most important coaches in Turkish football history, Fatih Terim, made striking statements as a guest on the Empathy program on NTV.
"I AM IN TOUCH WITH MY PLANTS AND THE SEA"
Stating that he continues his life in Bodrum, Fatih Terim said, "I spend time with my family and football in Bodrum. I come and go to Istanbul. I am in touch with my garden, my plants, and the sea, thank God. We have activities ongoing in different countries. May it be for the best, with God's will..."
''IT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER''
Commenting on Arda Turan, Fatih Terim said, "Arda could have been better. You remember his recent period; thankfully, the Galatasaray community supported him. He was right, it was his right. Indeed, there were some dissenting voices, but they fell silent. I want them to surpass me. We need that. A new trend, a new breath, a new energy needs to come. Coaching is also an incredible competition. A level competition is a very nice thing."
MEETING WITH KEREM AKTÜRKOĞLU
Speaking about his former player Kerem Aktürkoğlu, who transferred to Fenerbahçe, the experienced coach said, "Kerem is very talented. We brought him in. I say he is very talented again. Certainly, the recent events may have stressed everyone a bit, but looking at the situation from a technical perspective... If we can create circulation inside, we won't go wrong with the foreign player. I have not given a player to Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, or Trabzonspor. I just gave Serdar Aziz recently. If I am not considering playing him, if I am not satisfied, why would I block his path? Can there be a philosophy of 'He goes here, if he plays well...' You will waste the club's money, and you won't let the player play! He will look outside to make up for his shortcomings. The big four need to ensure this circulation among themselves."
''KEREM CALLED ME''
Fatih Terim also revealed a conversation he had with his former student Kerem Aktürkoğlu, who transferred to Fenerbahçe, saying, "Kerem's transfer to Benfica is very correct. It is one of the biggest in the world. One movement pleased a group, while another movement saddened another. Young people will make mistakes. It has taken on an extraordinary state. Here, we must respect the choices. Did Kerem benefit Galatasaray? Yes, he contributed to championships, did he bring in money? Yes. I know how much he was bought for. This should not be turned into a blood feud. Did he erase me? Yes. I said Galatasaray is more important. Kerem called me. Young people will make mistakes, we will forgive. We will show the right path. Otherwise, blood will flow. We are all a bit tense anyway. This hatred should be left behind."
