Fatmanur A., an 11th-grade student who disappeared yesterday morning in Ankara's Beypazarı district, was found safe and sound in an empty vineyard house after extensive search efforts involving gendarmerie, AFAD, and citizens.
DISAPPEARED AFTER EXAM, BAG AND SHOES FOUND IN VALLEY
The incident began yesterday morning at Beypazarı Hatice Cemil Ercan Science High School. Fatmanur A., an 11th-grade student who went to school on her electric bicycle, took a math exam as her last activity. The girl was last captured by the school's security cameras at 10:33 AM, after which she did not return home.
Following the worried report from her family, gendarmerie, AFAD, and medical teams went on alert. During the search, the girl's electric bicycle was first found abandoned on the roadside at the İnözü Valley location. As teams intensified their search in the valley, they found Fatmanur A.'s school bag and shoes, increasing the concern.
120-PERSON TEAM SEARCHED THROUGH THE NIGHT
Despite the challenging weather and terrain conditions throughout the night, no trace of Fatmanur A. was found. A 120-person expert team and trained search dogs were dispatched to the area, scanning the valley inch by inch and continuing the search uninterrupted.
SHE SPENT THE NIGHT IN AN ABANDONED HOUSE
While the entire district waited together for good news, it was learned that Fatmanur had spent the night in an abandoned open house in the İnözü Valley to protect herself from the cold. Around 08:00 AM, the girl, who continued moving within the valley, took shelter in an empty vineyard house about 8 kilometers from where she was first found.
MISTAKEN FOR A THIEF
Neighbors who noticed someone entering the vineyard house immediately informed the property owner, Yunus Öztürk. Öztürk quickly arrived at the house and, seeing that the missing high school student was inside, promptly reported it to the gendarmerie teams.
Family and Teams Took Over: Upon the report, gendarmerie teams and the family, who had been tracking her for hours, arrived at the address and safely retrieved Fatmanur A. from the vineyard house.
HEALTH CONDITION IS GOOD
Initial examinations showed that her general health condition was good and she had survived the night without incident. Due to shock and exhaustion, Fatmanur A. was taken to Beypazarı State Hospital by ambulance called to the scene for a check-up.
The anxious wait that had plunged Beypazarı into sorrow ended happily thanks to the determined pursuit of the teams and the high vigilance of the citizens. The investigation into the incident continues.
