In a simultaneous operation targeting FETÖ across 12 provinces centered in Izmir, 80 suspects were detained. The suspects are alleged to have conducted activities in the organization's educational, women's, and men's structures, provided financial support, and participated in organizational camps abroad. During searches at addresses, approximately 3.3 million lira worth of cash and precious metals, along with numerous documents and digital materials, were seized.
The Ministry of Interior announced that a large-scale operation was carried out against FETÖ. Within the scope of the work conducted in coordination with the Intelligence Department of the General Directorate of Security, the Counter-Terrorism Department, and the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, simultaneous operations were organized in 12 provinces centered in Izmir.
SIMULTANEOUS RAIDS IN 12 PROVINCES
In addition to Izmir, operations carried out in Adana, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bilecik, Denizli, Düzce, Isparta, Kütahya, Manisa, Niğde, and Uşak resulted in the apprehension and detention of 80 suspects.
In the ongoing investigation, it was determined that the suspects were active within FETÖ's current educational structure as well as its male and female organizations.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND CAMP ALLEGATIONS
It was alleged that the suspects carried out activities at a responsible level within the organization, provided financial support to the organization, and participated in organizational training camps through events organized under the guise of overseas trips.
Additionally, it was determined that some suspects were tasked with covering the rent, subsistence, and basic needs of organization houses.
3.3 MILLION LIRA WORTH OF CASH AND PRECIOUS METALS SEIZED
During searches at the addresses of the detained suspects, approximately 3 million 324 thousand 786 lira worth of foreign currency, precious metals, and Turkish lira were seized.
In the operations, numerous organizational documents and digital materials were also confiscated.
INVESTIGATION CONTINUES
While the procedures for the 80 detained suspects at the police station continue, it was learned that the examination of the seized materials has begun. It was stated that efforts are ongoing regarding whether new detention orders will be issued within the scope of the investigation.
