FETO Terror Group Poses Threat To National Security Of Host Countries

28.09.2021 17:12

Mustafa Sentop tells Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries group has evolved to international level.

Turkey's parliament speaker said Tuesday that the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) is a threat to the national security in countries where it is operating.

Mustafa Sentop told the 10th plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TurkPA) that the role of parliaments and parliamentarians have been increasing in the context of international relations and TurkPA has evolved into an international level.

Sentop said Azerbaijani territories under the occupation of Armenia were finally liberated and TurkPA members were pleased with that development.

"I congratulate the people of Azerbaijan and commemorate our martyrs," Sentop said, adding that Ankara always stood by Baku and would maintain support to help develop liberated regions.

The Turkish official said Turkey went through a coup attempt in 2016 and its parliament was struck by airstrikes of the FETO terror group, noting the will and determination of the Turkish nation managed to thwart the attempt.

The primary goals of FETO are to seize countries where it operates and follow instructions of its organization, said Sentop, who added that the terror group was eradicated in Turkey.

He also proposed that TurkPA members should hold joint parliamentary forums, including women and youth, to further enhance the cooperation of the organization.
