Fire at chicken farm in Mudanya: 12 thousand chickens perished

A fire broke out at a massive facility with a capacity of 1 million live animals in the Mudanya district of Bursa, causing panic. While numerous firefighting teams were dispatched to the poultry farm in Dedeköy neighborhood, where smoke covered the sky, the grim toll emerged after an hour of intervention: 12,000 chickens perished.

A fire broke out around 4:00 PM at a poultry farm with a capacity of 1 million animals in Dedeköy Neighborhood, Mudanya district of Bursa.

SMOKE WAS VISIBLE FROM THE ENTIRE DISTRICT

While the thick smoke rising from the farm was visible from many points in the district, numerous fire brigade teams were dispatched to the area upon the notification. The teams quickly intervened in the flames.

BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL IN 1 HOUR 

As a result of the intense efforts of the fire brigade teams, the fire was brought under control and extinguished within 1 hour.

12 THOUSAND CHICKENS PERISHED 

After the flames were extinguished, initial inspections at the facility determined that 12 thousand chickens had perished. The teams' cooling operations at the farm and investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
