The first reaction to dozens of police entering the CHP headquarters for evacuation came from the DEM Party. A written statement from the party said, "We do not accept the police forcibly entering the CHP headquarters under a governorship decision and evacuating party officials, members of parliament, and citizens."
The crisis that began in the CHP after the absolute nullity decision took on a new dimension with police intervention, and the first political reaction came from the DEM Party. Following the turmoil, evacuation attempt, and police activity that continued throughout the day in front of the CHP headquarters, the party issued a written statement.
In the process that began after the court's absolute nullity decision declared Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu as the CHP Chairman again, police units cordoned off the headquarters following a petition submitted to the Police Department by Kılıçdaroğlu's lawyer.
Later, dozens of police officers headed to the CHP headquarters for the evacuation procedure. Police teams broke down the iron door and entered the building, intervening with tear gas and plastic bullets against CHP members who resisted inside.
TENSION ROSE ALL DAY IN FRONT OF THE CHP HEADQUARTERS
From the morning hours, there was great tension around the CHP headquarters. After individuals close to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and some members of parliament arrived at the headquarters, a scuffle broke out, and tensions rose at the building entrances.
While Özgür Özel and many CHP members of parliament continued their vigil at the headquarters throughout the day, police teams came to the building for an evacuation notice but initially could not enter because the doors were closed.
Later, a critical meeting took place between the Minister of Interior and the CHP delegation, after which police teams mobilized again.
DEM PARTY: WE DO NOT ACCEPT
A harsh statement came from the DEM Party following the intervention. The party's statement said: "We do not accept the police forcibly entering the CHP headquarters under the governor's decision and evacuating party executives, members of parliament, and citizens."
"OPPRESSIVE METHODS ARE UNACCEPTABLE"
The DEM Party statement emphasized that Turkey needs democratic legal principles and said: "While Turkey's most fundamental need is to strengthen democratic legal principles, expand social peace, and widen the space for democratic politics, insisting on these oppressive methods is unacceptable."
The party also stated that they oppose all forms of intervention targeting democratic politics.
"ABANDON ATTITUDES THAT ESCALATE TENSION"
The statement also called on authorities. The DEM Party said, "We call on the authorities to abandon attitudes that escalate tension, act in accordance with democratic legal principles, and adopt an approach based on social peace." The party also called for common sense from the CHP leadership and party members.
"PROBLEMS SHOULD BE SOLVED THROUGH DIALOGUE AND CONSENSUS"
In the final part of the DEM Party statement, the following assessment was made: "We also invite CHP executives and citizens devoted to the CHP to solve the problems calmly through dialogue and consensus."
CRITICAL WAIT CONTINUES IN THE CHP
The crisis that began in the CHP after the absolute nullity decision has grown further with the scuffle in front of the headquarters, evacuation attempts, police intervention, and statements from political parties. While the Kılıçdaroğlu camp demands the implementation of the court decision, Özgür Özel and the current administration view the events as an "attempted forcible takeover." As developments in Ankara top the political agenda, all eyes are now on new developments at the CHP headquarters.
