In the Piedmont region of northern Italy, a two-seat gyrocopter caught fire after hitting a cable line providing access to the Campliccioli Dam. The two people on board died when the aircraft crashed on the shore of Lake Campliccioli. While the fire was being tackled from the ground and the air, an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident.

Aerial tragedy occurred in Italy. A two-seater gyrocopter flying in the Piedmont region in the north of the country struck a cable line near a dam area. After the impact, the aircraft caught fire and fell to the lake shore, killing the two people inside.

CAUGHT FIRE AFTER STRIKING CABLES

The accident occurred around 11:30 AM in the Antrona Schieranco area. According to the information obtained, the two-seater gyrocopter struck a cable line belonging to Enel while flying near the Campliccioli Dam.

The aircraft, which struck the cables of the line used for access to the dam, caught fire immediately after the accident.

The gyrocopter, which went out of control, then fell to the area on the shore of Lake Campliccioli.

2 PEOPLE ON BOARD LOST THEIR LIVES

Following the accident, fire and rescue teams were dispatched to the area. As a result of the teams' efforts, it was determined that both people on board the aircraft lost their lives.
