Folk song welcome for CHP Chairman Kılıçdaroğlu in Şırnak

CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu met with citizens in the village of Pınarbaşı in the İdil district as part of his visit to Şırnak. CHP leader Kılıçdaroğlu, who was welcomed with Kurdish folk songs in Şırnak, mentioned Selahattin Demirtaş, who is in prison, in his speech there.

CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was welcomed with Kurdish folk songs during his visit to Şırnak. Meeting with citizens, the CHP leader made statements on many issues, from Demirtaş's imprisonment to Turkey's economic power in the region.

WELCOMED WITH FOLK SONGS IN ŞIRNAK

Party members welcomed Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu upon his arrival at Şırnak Şerafettin Elçi Airport. The CHP leader then moved to Pınarbaşı village of İdil district with the accompanying delegation. At the "Sky Table" program organized in the village, local folk songs were sung for Kılıçdaroğlu, who met with citizens. CHP Deputy Chairmen Cemal Canpolat and Nevaf Bilek, Kars MP İnan Akgün Alp, Women's Branch Chairwoman Ayten Gülsever, Marmaraereğlisi Mayor Mustafa Onur Bozkurter, and CHP Şırnak Provincial Chairman Sait Namdar also attended the program.

REACTED TO DEMİRTAŞ'S IMPRISONMENT

Emphasizing freedom of thought in his speech, CHP leader Kılıçdaroğlu criticized the imprisonment of former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş. Kılıçdaroğlu said, "I never ever accept that Selahattin Demirtaş has been kept in prison for so long." 

"NOW IS THE TIME FOR RECONCILIATION"

CHP Chairman Kılıçdaroğlu, who commemorated those who lost their lives in the Ankara Train Station attack, said that Turkey had experienced great suffering in the past. Touching on the importance of social unity, the CHP leader said, "But now is the time to sit down and reconcile, the time for mutual forgiveness, the time to embrace." Kılıçdaroğlu, who also made assessments regarding the solution of the Kurdish issue, recalled the reports CHP had prepared in the past. 

STRIKING REMARKS ON SYRIA AND IRAQ

Emphasizing that Turkey needs to improve its economic relations with its neighbors, CHP Chairman Kılıçdaroğlu made the following statements regarding its influence in Syria and Iraq: "Turkey now needs to establish close relations in both Syria and Iraq. It needs to establish economic relations and develop its economy. Therefore, the dominant power in that region is Turkey. Let's accept it. The dominant power in Syria is Turkey, and in Iraq it is also Turkey."
