Following the claim that counterfeit dollars printed abroad have been released into the market, an investigation has been initiated ex officio, and statements have been made in succession. The Central Bank stated, "We are conducting the necessary work in coordination with the relevant judicial authorities as part of our effective fight against banknote counterfeiting," while the Banks Association of Turkey mentioned, "Currency counting, counterfeit currency control, and updates of ATM machines are being carried out."
