Bülent Gündüz, detained in the murder of Mezdeke group dancer Aynur Kanbur, who was killed 10 years ago in Şişli, confessed to the crime during his first police interrogation. While stating that he claimed to be a courier to get Kanbur to open the door, footage from the day of the incident showing his journey from Avcılar to Mecidiyeköy by metrobus has also emerged.

Bülent Gündüz, one of the suspects detained in connection with the murder of Aynur Kanbur, a dancer from the 'Mezdeke group' killed 10 years ago in Şişli, confessed to the murder in his statement. Gündüz, who said he killed his relative Aynur Kanbur because she worked as a dancer, reportedly stated, 'I came from Avcılar to her apartment by metrobus. I had her open the door posing as a courier, then committed the murder. I walked to Beşiktaş, threw the gun into the sea there, and returned.'

Meanwhile, it was learned that the special team set up to reach the suspect in the police investigation examined 4,000 hours of footage and determined that Bülent Gündüz boarded the metrobus from Avcılar, and by individually examining 1,700 people who boarded the metrobus at that time, they reached the suspect. Security camera footage revealed that the suspect headed towards Aynur Kanbur's apartment and, after the murder, walked towards Beşiktaş.

SPECIAL TEAM BEGINS EXAMINING FOOTAGE

New details have emerged regarding the investigation conducted by the Homicide Bureau. It was reported that the police set up a special team to reach the suspect, then obtained footage of the suspect caught on a security camera in Mecidiyeköy. After determining the description of the attacker, who was identified as wearing a hat, the police worked for months to determine where he boarded the metrobus. It was learned that a special team of six people within the Homicide Bureau was assigned solely to this task, and this team examined 4,000 hours of security camera footage.

SUSPECT WITH HAT IDENTIFIED AFTER VIEWING IN SLOW MOTION

However, unlike their colleagues who had previously viewed the footage, the homicide police, after watching the security camera footage in slow motion, finally determined that the suspect wearing a hat set off from the Avcılar metrobus station towards Mecidiyeköy. Following this development, the police examined all male individuals who boarded the bus from this stop. 1,700 people aged 16-50 were found through transit card records and examined individually. Eventually, the name of Bülent Gündüz, identified as a relative of the murdered Aynur Kanbur, was reached. When the police placed this person under surveillance, it was determined that his movements matched those of the killer.

STATEMENT TAKEN, CONFESSES TO MURDER

Bülent Gündüz, detained by the Homicide Bureau teams, confessed to the murder after his initial interrogation. It was stated that Gündüz, who said he killed Aynur Kanbur in his statement taken with his lawyer present, recounted the incident in all its details. The suspect Gündüz reportedly said, 'She was our relative. People made fun of us for years because she worked as a dancer. Finally, I couldn't take it anymore and decided to kill her.'

"I MADE HER OPEN THE DOOR SAYING I WAS A COURIER"

Bülent Gündüz, who described taking his gun and boarding the metrobus from Avcılar on the day of the incident, reportedly said, 'I walked to the front of her apartment. I waited for a while. Then I rang the doorbell, saying I was a courier. As soon as she opened the door, I fired at her and then fled on foot. I walked all the way to Beşiktaş. After throwing the gun into the sea there, I returned home.'

SECURITY CAMERA FOOTAGE FROM 10 YEARS AGO EMERGES

Meanwhile, in the security camera footage that emerged regarding the incident, the suspect was seen getting off the metrobus in Mecidiyeköy and then walking towards the apartment of Aynur Kanbur, where he would carry out the armed attack. It was determined that after the attack, the suspect, who fled the scene on foot, was also recorded by security cameras while heading to Beşiktaş. It was stated that a wide-ranging investigation into the incident is ongoing.
