Football: Olympique De Marseille On Top İn The League

Matchday 6 in France's top division, Ligue 1, ended Sunday night with the match of the week between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyon ending in a 1-1 draw.



The showdown between the two sides was held at "PSG"s home ground, Parc des Princes. Parisian giants' Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani's early goal against "Les Gones" (The Kids) was not enough to secure the win. French centre-back Samuel Umtiti put the ball into the net for Olympique Lyon in Paris. The draw resulted in 'PSG' taking fifth place with 10 points.



Monaco beat Guingamp 1-0 yesterday. Moroccan winger Nabil Dirar's goal brought victory for the Monegasque side who collected 7 points so far and now rank in 16th place in the standings.



League leaders, Olympique de Marseille cruised past Rennes 3-0 at home on Saturday. 'L'OM' striker Andre Pierre Gignac's brace against Rennes brought triumph to Olympique de Marseille who reached the top of the league by goal average.
