Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with US senators and House Representative Mike Turner in Ankara as part of the NATO Ankara Summit. Following the meetings, Fidan delivered a speech at the international event addressing European security and cooperation among NATO allies.
US Senate NATO Observer Group Co-Chair and Senior Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Jeanne Shaheen, Senators Christopher Coons, Dick Durbin, and Mike Rounds, along with US House of Representatives Member Mike Turner, were received in Ankara by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan during their visit to Turkey for the NATO Ankara Summit. Diplomatic sources reported that the meeting took place within the framework of summit contacts.
EUROPEAN SECURITY ON THE TABLE
Following his meetings, Minister Fidan attended an event titled "European Security After the Ankara Summit: Strengthening Cooperation Among NATO Allies Across Europe," organized in Ankara by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Center for Strategic Research (SAM) and Chatham House.
In his speech there, Fidan made assessments regarding the strengthening of cooperation among NATO allies, the future of the European security architecture, and the security challenges facing the alliance.
INTENSE DIPLOMATIC TRAFFIC IN ANKARA
Diplomatic traffic accelerated in the capital within the scope of the NATO Ankara Summit held on July 7-8. Ahead of the summit, numerous state and government representatives and parliamentarians were in Ankara for contacts, while Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held back-to-back bilateral meetings.
