After the armed opposition in Syria overthrew the 61-year-old Ba'ath regime, talks between Turkey and the new administration are ongoing. Following MIT President İbrahim Kalın, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan visited the Syrian capital, Damascus, today. Minister Fidan met with the leader of the new administration in Syria, Ahmed Eş Şara. Fidan and Şera appeared before the cameras after their meeting. Key points from Hakan Fidan's statements are as follows: "The Turkish people, the Turkish state, and our President Mr. Erdoğan will always stand by you (Syria). This is not a time to wait and see. We must take action. The territorial integrity is non-negotiable. We want to reiterate that there is no place for PKK/YPG in Syria.
