The forest fire that broke out in Kılıçlı Neighborhood in the Beykoz district of Istanbul was brought under control despite rekindling due to the wind, thanks to the intense intervention of the teams. Efforts that continued throughout the night involved 3 helicopters, 51 vehicles, and 146 personnel. The fire damaged 14 hectares of afforestation area and shrubland, and cooling operations are ongoing in the region.
The Istanbul Governorate announced that the forest fire that started around 15:50 yesterday in the Beykoz Kılıçlı neighborhood was brought under control. The fire damaged 14 hectares of afforestation area and shrubland.
WIND REIGNITED THE FIRE
In a statement from the Governorate, it was noted that the fire, which was brought under control around 18:30, intensified again due to the wind.
TEAMS INTERVENED THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT
With intensive interventions from the air and ground by the Regional Directorate of Forestry, fire department, and AFAD teams, the fire was brought under control again around 01:00.
3 HELICOPTERS AND 146 PERSONNEL DEPLOYED
It was reported that 3 helicopters, 51 vehicles, and 146 personnel intervened in the fire. It was noted that cooling efforts are ongoing in the area.
14 HECTARES OF AREA DAMAGED
It was announced that the fire resulted in damage to 14 hectares of afforestation area and shrubland.
