Former Galatasaray defender Semih Kaya announced his retirement from professional football on Friday.
In a video shared from his official Twitter account, the 31-year-old said: "In order to try myself in other aspects of life and to discover new things, I end my football career in Galatasaray, where I started professionally."
He thanked his family, manager, teammates and fans for their support.
Apart from playing for Czech club Sparta Prague, Turkish clubs Gaziantepspor, Kartalspor and Yeni Malatyaspor for short periods, Kaya spent most of his professional career at Galatasaray.
He bagged five Turkish Super Lig titles (2008, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2019) and four Turkish Cups (2014, 2015, 2016, 2019) with the Lions.
Separately, Kaya has 23 caps for Türkiye National Football Team. -
