Former İYİ Party member İbrahim Özkan has become the new advisor to Ekrem İmamoğlu.

Özkan announced on his social media account that İmamoğlu has been appointed as the Political Presidential Advisor. In his post, İbrahim Özkan stated:

WHO IS İBRAHİM ÖZKAN?

İbrahim ÖZKAN, an Independent Member of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council, was born in 1975 in Trabzon Köprübaşı. He received his hafızlık certificate in 1987. He completed his undergraduate education in Industrial Engineering. He has worked in the field of Fire and Disaster Management both domestically and internationally. He is a member of the Turkey Fire Fighting Foundation, the Association of Business People and Bureaucrats from Trabzon, and the BNU Our Generation's Servants Association. He was the MHP candidate for the Mayor of Sancaktepe in the local government elections held in 2009 and 2014. In 2017, he served as the founding district chairman of the İYİ Party in Sancaktepe. In the 2019 local elections, he was a council member for Sancaktepe and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, serving as an Independent Member of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council. ÖZKAN, who is a congress member of Trabzonspor, has played professional football, participated in sailing, and has been a diver. He is married and a father of two daughters. Özkan speaks English, German, and Arabic.
