While the debates over “absolute nullity” continue in the CHP, Akşehir Mayor Dr. A. Nuri Köksal harshly reacted to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. In a statement on his social media account, Köksal addressed Kılıçdaroğlu, saying, “You are no longer our fellow townsman. You may still claim to be one of us, but we are not with you.” The statement drew attention at a time when discussions over the party congress and leadership are intensifying within the CHP.
While the congress process and the debates over "absolute nullity" remain on the agenda in CHP, a striking statement came from Akşehir Mayor Dr. A. Nuri Köksal targeting former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
Köksal reacted to Kılıçdaroğlu with harsh words in a post on his social media account.
"YOU ARE NO LONGER OUR FELLOW TOWNSMAN"
In his statement, Köksal emphasized the importance of Akşehir during the National Forces period and stated that Kılıçdaroğlu's lineage traces back to Seyyid Mahmud Hayrani Hazretleri, who is buried in Akşehir.
However, Köksal said that despite this, they no longer consider Kılıçdaroğlu their fellow townsman.
"YOU MAY STILL CLAIM TO BE ONE OF US"
Köksal used the following expressions in his post:
"Dear Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Former CHP Chairman. I am Dr. A. Nuri Köksal, the Mayor of Akşehir, the homeland of your great-grandfather and the Headquarters of the Western Front of the National Forces... I have explained my views on the agenda at length in the CHP district organization, and it was also published on social media. I only want to say this to you: Your lineage may trace back to Seyyid Mahmud Hayrani Hazretleri, who is buried in Akşehir, but let me state as the Mayor of Akşehir that you are no longer our fellow townsman. You may still claim to be one of us, but we are not of you."
TENSION GROWS IN CHP
Recently, the congress process and the debates over "absolute nullity" conducted through the judiciary have increased tension within the CHP. While claims that former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu might return to the party administration are on the political agenda, statements from various names within the party are coming one after another.
Köksal's move was interpreted as the debates within CHP moving to a new dimension.
EYES ON CHP LEADERSHIP
While discussions regarding the congress process continue in party circles, the CHP leadership is expected to make new statements in the coming days. It is assessed that harsh messages, especially from local governments, have made the rift within the party more visible.
