The heart of Galatasaray fan Yiğit Kurt (9), who lost his life in a traffic accident while traveling from Bodrum to Istanbul to watch the match between Galatasaray and Tottenham, was transplanted to Fenerbahçe fan Muhammed Berat Namlı (7), who was receiving treatment for heart failure in Ankara. During his treatment in the hospital, little Muhammed, wearing a Fenerbahçe jersey, held on to life with the heart of Galatasaray fan Yiğit. Father Osman Namlı said, "From now on, hopefully, two teams will live in one heart." Serkan Kurt, who lives in Bodrum, Muğla, had an accident in Susurluk, Balıkesir, on November 7 while traveling to Istanbul to watch the Galatasaray-Tottenham match with his son Yiğit Kurt, a player at the Galatasaray Sports School. The car driven by Serkan Kurt collided with a truck. The injured father and son were taken to the hospital by ambulances. Serkan Kurt was discharged after his treatment. However, his son Yiğit Kurt, who was being treated in intensive care, was declared brain dead on November 12. The Kurt family decided to donate the organs of their son Yiğit, who was a fan of Galatasaray. Yiğit's heart was transplanted to Fenerbahçe fan Muhammed Berat Namlı, who was receiving treatment for congenital 'Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome' (HLHS-left heart failure) in Ankara. After a successful operation at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Children's Hospital on November 13, Muhammed Berat's treatment continues. Fenerbahçe fan Muhammed Berat, who is connected to life with the heart of Galatasaray's Yiğit Kurt, is being kept under observation in intensive care. The younger of the two children of nurse Ayşe Merve and police officer Osman Namlı, Muhammed Berat will be discharged after his treatment is completed. "THEY GAVE LIFE TO MY SON"Ayşe Merve Namlı, the mother of Muhammed Berat, stated that her son's condition was detected in the 5th month of her pregnancy, and that he underwent three surgeries at 1 month, 2 years, and 4 years old, but the desired results were not achieved. She mentioned that after the angiography performed in September, her son was placed on the urgent transplant list and that they received the news of 'a heart was found' on November 13. Ayşe Merve Namlı said, "I hope my son will be okay. I extend my condolences to Yiğit's family from here. May God give them patience. I believe that Yiğit's place will be paradise. They gave us the world, they gave life to my son. Of course, my son is also their son from now on. They can see him whenever they want, they can love him whenever they want. Organ donation is really a very big and very important thing. I want families to be more sensitive about this issue. They should not see it as something simple. I once again extend my condolences to Yiğit's family. They really did something very big. We had no hope at all; they gave us hope," she said. "MY SON HAS ANOTHER FAMILY NOW"Father Osman Namlı expressed his condolences to the Kurt family, saying, "I pray for mercy for our Yiğit. I extend my condolences to his grieving family. They gave us hope. Thank you very much. May God bless them. As soon as our child completes the treatment process, we want to go to the family and meet them. My son now has another family. I learned that Yiğit had asked his father for the iconic mask of Galatasaray player Victor Osimhen. They had the tragic accident in Balıkesir before he could get the mask. After I hold my Berat in my arms, I hope to embrace the family with Victor Osimhen's mask. From now on, one of our feet will be in Muğla. My child has another mother and father now. I am a police officer, and I would like to thank our law enforcement agency and our directors who supported me here. May God bless them; they all supported us during this process. I was very happy when the first news came; honestly, I was so shocked that I couldn't believe it. We didn't expect it to happen in such a short time, like a month," he said. "WE WILL GO TO THEM WITH OSIMHEN'S MASK"Osman Namlı, stating that his son is also a fanatic Fenerbahçe fan, said, "Hopefully, two teams will live in one heart from now on. Yiğit's father had a request from us; he said, 'Berat can be a Galatasaray fan from now on, no pressure.' Of course, I will not pressure him, let me say that. I hope he recovers safely, and we will go to his family with Osimhen's mask. We will do our best to alleviate the longing for our child. We had an emotional conversation over the phone. We shared the same sorrows, and they tried to share in our joy a little. We had such a mixed feeling. It is really hard to make this decision. It is hard to decide in such a short time. I want to call out to everyone. I hope people will be sensitive to organ transplants. There are thousands of families waiting here. There are families waiting with hope," he expressed.
