Galatasaray's new transfer Elias Jelert will not be able to play in the Super Cup match.

As the countdown begins for the Super Cup match between Super Lig champion Galatasaray and Ziraat Turkey Cup champion Beşiktaş, there is bad news for the yellow-red team from new signing Elias Jelert. The condition of the young footballer was announced by the coach Okan Buruk.

JELERT WILL NOT PLAY IN THE SUPER CUP MATCH

Okan Buruk stated that Elias Jelert has a slight pain and they will not risk the Danish footballer. In his statement, Buruk said, "Davinson Sanchez started training yesterday. Elias Jelert had a minor pain, we didn't want to take any risks. The league is starting, there are Champions League qualifiers. We could have made him train, but we didn't want to take any risks. He will rest for a couple more days and then start training. Davinson Sanchez also returned in good shape. He will be ready as soon as possible."

TRANSFER FEE AND SALARY

Galatasaray recently signed Elias Jelert from Copenhagen for a transfer fee of 9 million euros. This amount will be paid to the Danish team in 6 equal installments spread over 3 seasons. The yellow-red team also signed a 5-year contract with the 21-year-old right-back and will pay Jelert salaries of 900 thousand euros, 1 million euros, 1.1 million euros, 1.2 million euros, and 1.35 million euros respectively.

WHO IS ELIAS JELERT?

Starting his football career in the youth academy of Copenhagen, Elias Jelert was promoted to the first team in 2022. The 21-year-old right-back played 138 matches, including the youth academy, and scored 3 goals and provided 13 assists for Copenhagen. Jelert has played in 3 matches for the Danish national team. The young player transferred to Galatasaray this summer.

WHEN IS THE SUPER CUP MATCH?

Galatasaray, who finished the 2023-2024 season as champions, and Beşiktaş, who won the Ziraat Turkey Cup, will face each other in the Super Cup match on Saturday, August 3rd (tomorrow).
