A Palestinian youth on Saturday succumbed to wounds he sustained from Israeli army gunfire during an anti-occupation protest in the Gaza Strip a day earlier, according to the Health Ministry.
"Nasser Sharrab, 20, was shot injured on Friday and was martyred today," the ministry said in a statement.
A Palestinian minor had been martyred by Israeli gunfire during the Friday protest.
Saturday's death brings to 139 Palestinians who have been martyred – and thousands more injured -- by Israeli army fire since March when Palestinians staged a wave of protests against the decades-long Israeli occupation and an 11-year blockade on the Gaza Strip, which has gutted the coastal enclave's economy and deprived its roughly two million inhabitants of basic commodities. -
