Georgia Copes With Consequences Of Daryal Gorge Landslide

Search for a missing power plant employee in Daryal Gorge, Georgia, continues, after a landslide partially buried the plant.



A section of the Georgian Military Road that was blocked by a landslide has now been cleared and work continues to clear another section of a two-kilometer long road. The work is carried out by Georgia's Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure.



Works on restoration of the customs checkpoint are also continuing, and Daryal HPP technical tunnel is being cleared, noted the department.



A meteorological station which automatically measures the amount of precipitation, temperature, barometric pressure has been installed in Devdorak Gorge to monitor landslide processes.
